About this file
This is a Contract Utilization Information (CUI) document excerpt describing market research conducted for a federal solicitation.
A sources sought notice (W15QKN-25-X-160J) was posted to beta.sam.gov on April 14, 2025, seeking information from potential offerors regarding capabilities for the Common Cartridge Magazine-fed Conversion Kit (CCMCK), a user-installed temporary weapons conversion system that enables soldiers to employ individual weapon systems at short-range using low-velocity marking ammunition while precluding standard service ammunition. Two responses were received from the market research.
The Government requested offerors provide information demonstrating design capabilities related to MIL-PRF-32313 (Loose) and MIL-PRF-32315 (Linked) requirements. Offerors were required to submit summaries of capabilities, facilities, personnel, and previous small caliber manufacturing experience and testing; monthly and annual production capacities with assumptions regarding shifts and production factors affecting proven monthly production capacity with evidence of 700,000 minimum 5.56mm M1042 Loose and M1071 Marking Ammunition Cartridges produced monthly; and design verification plans and schedules for sources without previously verified designs, including contractor-performed testing results and data supporting MIL-PRF-32313 and MIL-PRF-32315 conformance. Detailed Market Research Evaluation results appear in the redacted section following this description.
