Project Parks Ranger District Fire Work Center Roof Replacement.
General Information
1.0 Background
Within the Medicine Bow‐Routt National Forest, the Parks Ranger District Fire Work Center is a 510 square foot, single‐ story, lightwood‐framed, slab‐on‐grade structure constructed in 1958. The Parks Ranger District Fire Work Center is physically located on 4th Street in Walden, CO 80480 (vic 106.2803024°W, 40.7315742°N). This structure is used year‐ round as a Fire crew workshop and equipment storeroom.
The roof of the Parks Ranger District Fire Work Center is constructed of wood shake shingles and covers approximately 758 square feet with an 8/12 pitch. Fire risk and the lack of adequate weather protection necessitates an immediate replacement which meets current Forest Service requirements.

Appendix C – Color Palette
This Appendix contains several series of electronically-scanned color chips. Within each series a number of colors have been marked as appropriate for trim, roofs or for use generally (i.e., all other portions of a structure). These colors tend to harmonize with the natural forest setting, but their use is not mandatory; rather, site-specific decisions should be bases on site-specific analyses, and colors should be chosen to blend with the particular location within which they will be used.
District Rangers who wish to use the colors of this electronic palette should note that because of differences in computer monitors and application software the electronic representations will likely not display accurately. For this reason, the electronic representations should be taken only as rough approximations and hard-copy color sheets and/or chips have been distributed to District offices for reference purposes.
Use this handbook of color chips from manufacturers Benjamin Moore and Pratt & Lambert does not constitute an endorsement by the Forest of those manufacturers.
