About this file
This document is a Sole Source Justification for Simplified Acquisitions issued by the Office of Acquisition Management on June 27, 2025. The document justifies a direct purchase from Border States Industries Inc. for furnishings for the Chief of Mission's Residence in Athens, Greece, with a total estimated cost of $10,000.00. The procurement is being conducted under FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), which allows for other than full and open competition, based on the vendor's unique ability to provide customized pieces that coordinate with the architectural details, environment, and existing conditions of the diplomatic residence.

The Office of Residential Design and Furnishings (OBO/OPS/RDF) maintains a comprehensive library and actively seeks new sources through vendor presentations and biannual trade shows. The document is certified by the Office Director and Contracting Officer, confirming the accuracy and completeness of the sole source justification.
