MODULAR IN-PLANT OFFICE – GOVERNMENT-FURNISHED BUILDING PRODUCTS AND ASSEMBLIES

PART 1 GENERAL

This list is excerpted from earlier Government documents used for procurement of building products and assemblies—to be installed by Contractor under NUWCDIVNPT Purchase Order N66604-22-P-0562.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562 shall erect modular office system from pre-finished materials supplied by the modular office manufacturer via the Government, which consists of the following specific components:

2.1.1 Wall Panels

Laminated design consisting of a solid core with a pre-finished interior and exterior surface. Wall panels shall also conform to the following requirements:

a. Wall panels: 3" thick by 12' high.

b. Core: expanded polystyrene ASTM E84 Class A fire-resistant, 1PSF density.

c. Panel Finish: Interior finish: white vinyl covered hardboard. Exterior finish: white vinyl covered hardboard.

2.1.2 Structural Framework

Extruded aluminum alloy with clear satin anodized finish.

a. Standard Panel Connecting Post: 3-piece "non-progressive" design which serves as the connecting device for holding wall panels together. Panel connecting posts shall also serve as a vertical raceway to conceal electrical and data service. A full height snap-on cover plate to allow for easy access without disassembly of the wall system. Connecting posts shall be load-bearing.

b. Corner Post: 2-piece "non-progressive" design which serves as both a structural member and as the connecting device for wall panels at 90-degree angles.

c. Non-Progressive Design: Standard panel connecting post and corner post enabling wall panels to be removed or replaced with disassembly of adjacent wall panels.

d. Wall Starts: 12 gauge steel U-shaped channel to fit flush against existing structure or where two modular panels meet on a perpendicular line. The U-Shaped channel is sided to enable standard panel connectors or corner post to positively connect while enabling panel installation on the adjacent side.

e. Ceiling Cap: Extruded aluminum in pre-cut pre-mitered lengths to fit snugly around the top of all perimeter wall sections eliminating on-site fabrication. An integral vertical fascia shall be included to create a neat, finished appearance.

f. Partition Cap: Extruded U-shaped aluminum alloy in pre-cut, pre-mitered lengths to fit snugly around the top of all partition wall sections eliminating on-site fabrication.

g. Base Plate: extruded U-shaped aluminum alloy in pre-cut, pre-mitered lengths to serve as a leveling surface and guide for installation of wall panels and connecting posts.

2.1.3 Door Assemblies

Door assemblies shall be full flush doors, lockset shipped separately for field installation. Doors shall include an integral threshold and stationary door sweep.

a. Door Leafs: Nominal 3' wide by 7' high, heavy-duty aluminum. Swing shall be as indicated on drawing.

b. Door Frame: Extruded aluminum alloy with clear satin anodized finish with integral stop, threshold and full perimeter rubber bulb gasket.

c. Removable Transom: Double door assembly with a full width removable transom panel. Doorframe minimum opening height of approximately 11’ with transom panel removed.

d. Door Hardware: As indicated below.

Hinges: Fully mortised, heavy weight, anti-friction bearing butt hinge.

Lockets (Single Door): Industrial grade, lever lockset, capable of accepting a Best core to match NUWC's existing key system.

Lockets (Double Door): Mortise Push Pad Exit Device with lever lockset, capable of accepting a Best core to match NUWC's existing key system.

Door Sweep: Aluminum extrusion with black vinyl sweep, surface mounted to the bottom of the door leaf.

e. Vision Lite: Factory-installed vision lite with 1/4" laminated safety glass.

2.1.4 Window Assemblies

Window assemblies shall consist of a three-piece system which includes the window frame and wall panel sections to fit above and below to create a full height panel assembly.

a. Frame: Fixed type, constructed of extruded aluminum alloy with a clear satin anodized finish. Window frames preassembled, including specified factory glazing. Frames shall positively lock into adjoining connecting posts. Fixed window frames shall included removable stops to enable easy replacement of glazing.

b. Glazing: 1/4" laminated safety glass. Factory installed in frame with full perimeter rubber bulb gasket.

2.1.5 Roof System

a. Steel Deck: 18 gauge corrugated B-Deck shall serve as the roof cover and span support for acoustical grid ceiling system and lighting.

Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562 shall provide acoustical grid ceiling system and lighting.

b. Roof Supports: Structural I-beam roof supports to reduce deck spans. Columns for 3-sided module.

Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562 shall mechanically fasten IBeams to panel connectors on centerlines as required for the span conditions. Beam to panel connections shall be such that top of beam is flush with top of wall and beam sits below roof deck.

c. Suspended Ceiling System: Suspended metal grid with lay-in acoustical tile. Ceiling grid consists of double webbed, commercial grade galvanized steel with white baked enamel paint finish. Acoustical ceiling tiles: 2' x 4' x 5/8" white fissured lay-in panels, flame spread Class A.

Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562 shall orient suspended ceiling system to accommodate lighting layout as shown on plans.

2.1.6 Electrical Components

a. Electrical Outlets: Provided by Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562.

b. Data/Telcom Jacks: Provided by Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562.

c. Lighting: Provided by Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562.

d. Load Centers: Provided by Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562.

2.1.7 HVAC Components

a. HVAC components: Provided by Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 Storage in Building 6

3.2 Contractor under N66604-22-P-0562 shall erect modular office in accordance with plans and specifications.
