About this file
This is a technical specifications document for the Eglin Parkway Lift Station Replacement project in Florida. The project scope encompasses site preparation and installation of a corrosion-proof polymer concrete precast wet well using the caisson method with tremie pour for the bottom seal, including clearing and grubbing, erosion and sedimentation control installation, excavation, wet well section assembly with watertight joints and retainer straps, tremie seal concrete pouring, secondary bottom pour with chamfered edges, buoyancy calculations, watertightness testing, and backfilling operations. Additionally, the work includes furnishing and installing two approximately 34 horsepower submersible heavy-duty explosion-proof non-clog sewer pumps with base elbows, stainless steel discharge piping, guide rail systems, pump control panels, and all appurtenances required for project completion in accordance with the contract documents and plans.
The technical specifications document provides detailed engineering and performance requirements for materials, equipment, and construction methods but does not contain information regarding pricing terms, set-asides, response deadlines, bid due dates, site visit schedules, bidder meetings, award dates, contract terms, renewal options, incumbent information, or funding sources. Contractors responding to this opportunity should reference the primary invitation for bid document and related contract opportunity materials for complete procurement details, timeline requirements, and financial terms.

ENGINEER.
1.9 ADJACENT FACILITIES AND PROPERTIES
A. Examination:
1. Following acceptance of the Notice-to-Proceed, and before Work at site is started, CONTRACTOR, OWNER, and ENGINEER shall make thorough examination of pre-existing conditions including existing buildings, structures, and other improvements in vicinity of Work, as applicable, which might be damaged by CONTRACTOR’s operations. Periodic reexamination shall be jointly performed.
2. Record observations for signature of ENGINEER and CONTRACTOR.
B. Documentation:

5. Install new portions of existing facilities in their relocated position prior to removal of existing facilities, unless otherwise accepted by ENGINEER.
1.11 PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
A. Exercise reasonable care to verify locations of existing subsurface structures and Underground Facilities.
B. Thoroughly check immediate and adjacent areas subject to excavation by visual examination (and by electronic metal and pipe detection equipment, as necessary) for indications of subsurface structures and Underground Facilities.
C. Make exploratory excavations where existing Underground Facilities or structures may potentially conflict with proposed Underground Facilities or structures. Conduct exploratory excavations in presence of ENGINEER and sufficiently ahead of construction to avoid possible delays to CONTRACTOR’s Work.
1.12 REFERENCE POINTS AND SURVEYS

Project Management and Coordination 01 31 00-9
C. ENGINEER may perform checks to verify accuracy of CONTRACTOR’s layout Work and that completed Work complies with Contract Documents.
D. Any existing survey points or other control markers destroyed without proper authorization will be replaced by owner of the survey points or control markers at the CONTRACTOR’s expense.
E. CONTRACTOR’s Responsibilities:
1. Provide additional survey and layout as required.
2. Locate and protect reference points prior to starting site preparation.
3. Notify ENGINEER at least 3 working days in advance of time when grade and line to be provided by others will be needed.
4. Check and establish exact location of existing facilities prior to demolition work and any connections thereto.
5. In event of discrepancy in data or staking provided by ENGINEER, request clarification before proceeding with Work.
6. Preserve and leave undisturbed control staking until ENGINEER has completed checks it deems necessary.
7. Re-establish reference points resulting from destruction by CONTRACTOR’s operations.
8. Retain professional land surveyor or civil engineer registered in state of Project who shall perform or supervise engineering surveying necessary for additional construction staking and layout.
9. Maintain complete accurate log of survey Work as it progresses as a Record Document.
10. On request of ENGINEER, submit documentation.
11. Provide competent employee(s), tools, stakes, and other equipment and materials as ENGINEER may require to:
a. Establish control points, lines, and easement boundaries.
b. Check layout, survey, and measurement Work performed by others.
c. Measure quantities for payment purposes.
d. Assist OWNER’s staff during bypassing or other interruption of normal operation.

ARTICLE 3 – EXECUTION
Project Management and Coordination 01 31 00-10
1.9 SALVAGE OF MATERIALS
A. OWNER reserves the right to salvage the following equipment and materials prior to and during demolition. Specific materials to be salvaged include:
1. Five blowers and enclosures.
B. Salvage materials for OWNER’s use.
1. Remove material with extreme care so as not to damage for future use.
2. Promptly remove from Work area salvaged materials.
