Water Softener Salt 2020 Bid - Huron Valley Schools

This Invitation to Bid (ITB) document, issued by Huron Valley Schools in partnership with the Michigan Association of Counties (MAC) Bid Program, solicits sealed proposals for the supply and delivery of water softener salt to District buildings. Huron Valley Schools currently consumes approximately 3,100 bags of Dura Cube Water Softener Salt (50-pound bags) annually and will consider alternate brands and bag sizes with manufacturer specification sheets. Sealed bids were due by 2:00 PM local time on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, and were to be submitted to Sandra Elka, Director of Business & Purchasing, at the District's Administration Building located at 2390 S. Milford Road, Highland, Michigan 48357. The initial contract period runs from September 1, 2020, through August 31, 2021, with the District retaining the sole discretion to extend the agreement for two additional one-year terms through August 31, 2023. Public bid opening was scheduled for immediately following the 2:00 PM submission deadline on July 29, 2020, with the Board of Education recommendation for award planned for the regular Board meeting on August 17, 2020. The District intended to award the contract to one or two vendors based on competitive evaluation.

All pricing must be submitted on the District's Bid Proposal Form and must include freight, all discounts, and rebates with prices remaining firm for sixty days after bid submission. Pricing submitted to Huron Valley Schools and participating entities must represent the lowest pricing available, with an additional 1.5 percent program fee to be remitted to MAC by the awarded vendor. The District is tax-exempt and will provide a tax exemption form to the awarded bidder. Bidders must demonstrate at least five years of successful experience in work of this type and scope and must comply with all stated specifications unless specific exceptions are documented in the proposal. All bidders must provide sworn and notarized familial relationship disclosure statements and Iran Economic Sanctions Act compliance affidavits or their bids will not be accepted. The resulting contract will function as a statewide cooperative contract managed through MAC, enabling other Michigan public municipalities, school districts, and non-profit organizations to "piggyback" and purchase from the awarded vendor(s) on an as-needed basis. Bidders must indicate all Michigan geographic service areas and provide any available discounts or tiered pricing structures applicable to different regions or entity sizes.
