About this file

This document is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the State of Oregon, acting through the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD), to establish a contract for hazard tree removal operations at the Ona Beach Day Use Area in Brian Booth State Park located in Lincoln County, Oregon. The project involves the removal of several dozen dead and hazardous trees that pose a risk to existing infrastructure, visitors, and staff. The work must be completed between November 20, 2023 and December 31, 2023, outside of the Marbled Murrelet nesting season. Bids are due by November 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm. OPRD intends to award one contract as a result of this solicitation.

The contract will compensate the successful bidder based on the bid amount submitted. The work requires specific precautions due to the culturally sensitive nature of the site, which may contain underground artifacts. Approved cutting practices include controlled felling, tree climbing, and the use of boom equipment to minimize ground disturbance. All tree debris must be chipped and hauled to a designated staging area. Contractors must provide a performance bond equal to 20% of the bid value or $10,000, whichever is greater, prior to contract award.
