Question
Response
1
Sec. 1
12, Item 10.10
Will ITD allow the use of stainless steel cushioned P-clamps in lieu of hose blocks? Rationale: Hose blocks cannot always be mounted in areas where P-clamps can be positioned.
ITD will accept stainless steel P Clamps only when 1 single hydraulic hose is being secured. More than one hydraulic line will need to be separated with hose blocks.
2
Sec. 1
12, Item 11.6
Why is split loom not acceptable?

Rationale: Split loom is utilized by every vehicle, truck and equipment manufacturer. Split loom can last as long as the life of the vehicle, truck, and equipment.

Attachment 2 Section 1 Item 11.11.6 Change to Read… All exposed electrical cabling must be enclosed in a conduit, wrapped harness including CAN bus communication cables and be grommet protected when passing through metal or sharp surfaces. Split loom acceptable except when wiring is passing through metal or sharp surfaces.

3
Sec. 1
15, Item 3.10
The specification states: Connections-No threaded pipe fittings, hoses, or tubing is allowed, except connections on the water pump. Note: Threaded connections and fittings are required for installation of the hose reel inlet plumbing to allow for installation of the ball valves, threaded fittings are required for Page 16, Item 5.3 flow control valve and Item 5.4 water drain valve.
ITD will accept threaded connections and fittings for installation of the hose reel inlet plumbing to allow for installation of the ball valves, threaded fittings, must be stainless steel or brass.
4
Sec. 1
23, Item 12.7 and 12.7.3
Would a Waytek 7/way terminal junction box mounted inside of the cab be acceptable in lieu of the Stahlin junction box? Rationale: Mounting the junction box inside of the cab negates the need for weatherproofing and better protects the box. The Shalin junction box is too large for the cab interior. The Waytek terminal junction box has been utilized on previous ITD flusher truck builds.
ITD will accept.
