About this file

This document is an Amendment (Number One) to Invitation to Bid (ITB) Number 2526S023 issued by the State of Alaska's Department of Transportation & Public Facilities, Statewide Contracting & Procurement. The amendment pertains to the Sheldon Jackson Museum HVAC Upgrades project and addresses two questions regarding equipment specifications and product compatibility. The amendment clarifies that Samsung was the original Basis of Design for the project, with Mitsubishi identified as an acceptable substitute, and the state considers the two HVAC systems equivalent.

The amendment specifically provides guidance on equipment requirements, emphasizing that R410A refrigerant is the intended specification and that while an equivalent system from a different manufacturer is allowed, it must match the original Basis of Design System in all performance, electrical requirements, and equipment options. The document was issued on 7 October 2025 and is informational in nature, not requiring a mandatory return from bidders. The procurement specialist, Erik Shook, signed the amendment to provide official clarification on the project's technical specifications.
