About this file
This is a Bid Set document for the Cruise Terminal 5 Marine Improvements project, issued by the Canaveral Port Authority in Port Canaveral, Florida. The project involves selective demolition of an existing open-pile concrete pier and adjacent mooring dolphins, followed by constructing new open pile concrete pier extensions to the north and south of the existing pier. The project will include installing new mooring fixtures, marine fenders, steel monopile mooring dolphins, modifying existing aluminum catwalks, updating electrical raceway and potable water lines, and completing pier deck repairs. Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 PM EDT on June 11, 2025, with non-mandatory pre-bid site visits scheduled for May 27 and June 3, 2025, at 445 Challenger Road in Cape Canaveral. The project is targeted for completion by June 30, 2026, and will be awarded to the lowest responsive bidder.
The bid documents include a contingency allowance of $660,000 and require bidders to submit a 5% bid bond, detailed financial statements, insurance certificates, and a comprehensive list of subcontractors. Bidders must demonstrate ten years of documented marine structures construction experience and possess appropriate Florida contractor licensing. The project includes an Owner Direct Purchase Program for material procurement and requires compliance with various state and federal regulations, including E-Verify employment eligibility verification and specific environmental protection standards. Technical specifications indicate a sophisticated engineering approach with rigorous testing protocols, including dynamic pile load testing and vibration monitoring, suggesting a complex marine infrastructure project with significant environmental and technical considerations.
