About this file
This document appears to be an attachment related to a federal contract opportunity titled "Aberdeen Test Center - B384 Simulator". The attachment provides details on the required cooling system design to maintain proper temperatures for testing equipment at the facility.
The key details are:
- The cooling system must be able to distribute cooling air and exhaust hot air away from the components, which can generate up to 1,035,000 BTU/hr of heat.
- The system must be sized to maintain a space temperature of 80°F during testing, which can take place 24 hours a day, 5 days a week.
- The existing test equipment cannot operate in temperatures hotter than 105°F, so a new HVAC system with outdoor package units and ductwork must be installed to provide sufficient cooling with redundancy.
- The solicitation is being issued by the Department of Justice Bureau of Prisons Correctional Facilities, a civilian agency.

Design to distribute cooling air and exhaust hot air away from the components:
Annex
Exhaust Extraction Fan
Front of Vehicle
Most of heat from engine will originate from middle of test hall (~490,000 BTU/hr)
Road Speed fan blows air at the vehicle proportional to the vehicle speed (~8,500 BTU/hr)
Electric dynos react to work done by the vehicle.
(~456,000 BTU/hr)
Dyno drive cabinets convert AC to DC and supply power to the dynos (~89,000 BTU/hr)
