About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) question set from the IRS Office of Information & Technology (OIT) seeking information about virtualized infrastructure solutions and services. The document contains 15 detailed questions covering various aspects of potential vendor capabilities and solutions.

The questions request information about company capabilities, staff composition, management structure, relevant contract vehicles (GSA, NASA SEWP, GWAC), facility clearance levels, and experience with similar projects. Technical requirements focus on virtualized infrastructure software solutions, including hyperconverged coverage, business models (perpetual/subscription/ingestion), 24/7/365 maintenance support, training, certifications, and upgrade capabilities. Vendors are asked to provide retail/catalog pricing, volume discounts, one-time costs, and ballpark estimates for 1, 3, and 5-year periods, though no funding is currently allocated. Additional areas of interest include emerging virtualization trends, pain points in business processes, experience communicating complex technical decisions, compliance with IRS security and FISMA requirements, and past performance on similar projects. The RFI specifically notes this is for market research purposes only and not a formal solicitation.
