About this file
This is a specification clarification document issued by Battle Creek Public Schools for Bid Package No. 22.25 regarding mechanical insulation installation services at Ann J Kellogg school. The project involves furnishing and installing interior chilled piping insulation using Armaflex closed-cell engineered foam piping insulation as the basis of design. The scope of work includes clearing pipes of residual materials, furnishing all labor and materials necessary to install interior mechanical piping insulation on all cold-water piping systems, and coordinating installation with concurrent mold remediation and duct cleaning activities occurring on site. The project is scheduled to run from June 25, 2019 through August 6, 2019, with work divided into four distinct areas at Ann J Kellogg school. Bidders must anticipate typical weather conditions and understand that time is of the essence, with ELITE project management reserving the right to adjust sequencing to accommodate project conditions.
Bidders are required to provide unit cost pricing for labor rates by worker category per hour, linear footage pricing for insulation provision and installation, and equipment rates. The bid breakdown must itemize costs for insulation provide/install work in each of the four project areas, with a performance and payment bond required if the total bid exceeds $50,000. No LEED requirements apply to this project. Removal and reinstallation of acoustical ceiling tile systems are excluded from this scope and will be performed by others. There is no guarantee of continuous work, and all overtime, weekend work, shift work, and schedule coordination costs must be included in the base bid at no additional cost to the owner.
