About this file

This is an Insurance Requirements document for the State of Maine related to a Reflective License Plate Sheeting contract opportunity. The document outlines the mandatory insurance coverage that bidders must procure and maintain throughout the contract duration to protect against claims for injuries to persons or property arising from contract performance.

Bidders are required to obtain four types of insurance coverage: Commercial General Liability with a minimum limit of $1,000,000 per occurrence on an occurrence basis including products and completed operations; Workers' Compensation and Employer's Liability as required by law; Vehicle Liability Insurance with a minimum limit of $400,000 per occurrence on an occurrence basis; and Environmental Impairment (Pollution) Liability with a minimum limit of $1,000,000. The bidder's insurance must be primary coverage, with any State insurance serving as excess coverage. Bidders must furnish certificates of insurance and required endorsements signed by authorized insurer representatives before contract commencement, with the State retaining the right to request complete certified copies of all policies. All policies must include a revised cancellation clause providing 30 days' notice to the State in the event of cancellation for any reason, including nonpayment. The insurance coverage shall apply separately to each insured against whom a claim is made or suit is brought, except regarding the insurer's liability limits.
