About this file
This document outlines specifications for installing bus heaters on vehicles for the Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces. The specifications call for eight dry air heaters that operate on 12V for passenger comfort during colder weather, as standard passenger heaters do not provide adequate heat. Also required are eight 4-inch LED fog lights mounted to the front bumper with a switch on the driver's left console to improve visibility, especially for seeing wildlife, during darker winter months. Four 24-amp battery tenders are specified to keep the bus batteries charged, reducing mobile maintenance calls as the buses do not operate daily. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number FA500023Q0116 to install the bus heaters, with an amend 3, from the Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces.
