About this file

The Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC) has issued a General Notice seeking food truck vendors to provide alternative meal options for facility staff across multiple correctional centers throughout Illinois. This non-contractual notice aims to create a list of vendors who can schedule food truck days in staff parking lots at various IDOC facilities, with date and time availability determined on a first-come, first-served basis. Vendors must complete a vendor information form, use self-sufficient equipment like generators, provide menus with pricing at least seven days in advance, comply with public health codes, and adhere to specific guidelines such as selling only food and dressing appropriately.

The notice covers 25 different IDOC facilities across Illinois, including centers in Ina, Centralia, Danville, Decatur, Dixon, East Moline, Springfield, Hillsboro, Galesburg, Canton, Jacksonville, Joliet, Kewanee, Sumner, Lincoln, Menard, Pinckneyville, Pontiac, Robinson, Vienna, Sheridan, East St. Louis, and Crest Hill. Vendors must indicate their nearest facility, additional service locations, confirm proper licensure and certifications for county facilities, and verify insurance coverage. The initial posting period is 90 days, and once a vendor is added to the facility's list, they will remain until they choose to be removed or one year has passed. This opportunity does not guarantee any sales or contracts, with all food purchases being at the individual staff member's sole discretion and expense.

Illinois Department of Corrections General Notice

Food Truck Vendors I. Introduction and Purpose of this General Notice

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking food truck vendors to provide alternative food options for facility staff. It will be at the facility's sole discretion whether multiple vendors will be allowed at any given time.

- Vendors must complete the attached vendor information form and return it to the facility before their first visit.

- Vendors must use self-sufficient units and equipment, such as generators, as outside power sources will not be available on-site.

- Vendors are only allowed to sell food on the grounds; selling other merchandise is strictly prohibited.

- Vendors must fully comply with state and local public health codes and licensing requirements.
