About this file
This is Addendum #1 to Invitation for Quotation (IFQ) 8600 AB1000 issued by the City of Austin Purchasing Office for swimming pool and splash pad equipment, chemicals, and installation services. The solicitation seeks quotations for thirteen line items including pool and splash pad chemicals (sodium bicarbonate, sodium thiosulfate, cyanuric acid, and calcium chloride in 50-pound bags), testing and monitoring equipment (lane reels, PPM probes, Taylor reagents, Prominent pH/ORP probes), a chemical-controller modem, and gel kits, with estimated quantities ranging from one lane reel to 100 bags of bulk chemicals. The addendum addresses clarifications made at a solicitation conference, specifically regarding product specifications and equipment compatibility requirements. Quotations are due June 8, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. via email submission to Mark.MacDougal@austintexas.gov. The City reserves the right to award by individual line item, category, or aggregate pricing as most advantageous to its needs.
Key specifications clarified in the addendum include that PPM probes must be Prominent brand for Prominent controllers, with limited demand for Chemtrol pH or ORP probes; modems must be cellular units with ethernet ports from Vivo Aquatics, compatible with Prominent/Edge controllers and Vivo Point software; and gel kits must be Prominent brand. Lane line storage capacity requirements vary across the City's facilities, with the majority requiring 25-yard capacity, some sites needing 22.5-yard or 50-yard capacity, and maximum requirement of 50-meter lane line storage. All quotations must be submitted on FOB Destination basis with all freight charges and handling costs included in item prices. The City is exempt from Federal Excise Tax and State Sales Tax, and vendors must not include taxes in pricing. Vendors must provide certificates of insurance demonstrating Commercial General Liability of $2,000,000 per occurrence, Workers' Compensation per Texas statutory requirements, and Business Automobile Liability of $500,000 combined single limit. Contractors must comply with City of Austin wage theft ordinances and complete required wage theft training within thirty days of contract award. Payment is due within thirty days of receipt of properly documented invoices contingent on satisfactory delivery or performance.

Invitation For Quotation
Addendum #1 for IFQ_8600_AB1000
This Addendum changes documents associated IFQ_8600_AB1000. The following changes are incorporated to the subject IFQ:
Solicitation Questions
Q1. PPM Probes are Prominent?
A1. Prominet probes for the Prominent controllers, though we do have need for a few Chemtrol pH or ORP probes as we still use 3-4 of these controllers at sites.
Q2. Modem for chemical controllers
A2. Preferred modem is from Vivo Aquatics whose modems are compatible with our Prominent/Edge controllers and their Vivo Point software.
Q3. Gel kits are Prominent?
A3. Yes gel kits are Prominent
Q4. Do you know if you need storage capacity for 8 x 25-yard lane line with 4” discs or something with more capacity?
A4. We do have some 22.5 yard and 50 yard pools. The majority of our sites would use 25yd lines. We have a few sites that are about 33 yards and a few others that are 50 meters. The maximum size needed would be to hold 4 50-meter lane lines.
Q5. WiFi modem or cellular modem?
A5. The modems needed are cellular with a ethernet port to be able to connect to our chemical controllers. It is preferred to be ones from Vivo Aquatics as they are easily compatible with our chemical controllers.
