Subject: Questions and Answers: IFB BAR-24-09

This will serve to inform all prospective bidders of the Questions and Answers for IFB BAR-24-09, for Part Washers and Hazardous Waste Removal services.

This Questions and Answers responds to the questions received from prospective bidders.

Question #1: Can we get more information about the following parts washer requirements? This description does not have enough information. Size, gallon capacity, etc.

Answer #1: Air Agitated Heated Aqueous Immersion Cleaner. The units that have been provided to BAR by other vendors is a steel barrel with approximately 8 gallons of Aqueous Cleaner (water-based cleaning solution) with a shop air operated agitator the placed on the top of the barrel with the barrel lid removed. The air agitator has a rod and hook that a steel basket is attached to and is lowered into the cleaning solution. The barrel itself is wrapped with removable heating blanket that is transferred to the new barrel when the cleaning solution is replaced with a new barrel.

Question #2: We need clarification on the pricing sheet for the Parts Washer Requirements. The formula mentioned to calculate Annual cost is Unit Cost Per Interval x 4. However, the Service Intervals (weeks) are 12 and 26. So do we have to calculate Annual Cost for all line items by using formula Unit Cost x 4 or should we go by Service Intervals (weeks).

Answer #2: The Annual Cost will be calculated based on the Unit cost per interval x 4.
