About this file
This document is an amendment to Invitation for Bid (IFB) 325-418 for the Nisqually Forest Health Thinning Log Sale issued by the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. The sale includes approximately 189 acres of forest products located in Nisqually State Park in Pierce County, Washington. This amendment lowers the minimum bid prices for two log sort types to increase competition and accommodate pricing norms for shorter log lengths typical of a cut-to-length operation. Bidders are invited to include this amendment with their bid response, but it is not mandatory.
The revised minimum bid prices are $400 per MBF for Douglas-fir sawlogs (Sort 1) and $150 per MBF for Cottonwood sawlogs (Sort 2). An updated Appendix C - LOG SORT SEALED BID FORM has been provided with this amendment, and bidders are instructed to use this updated form when completing their bid package.

7.3 (APPENDIX C) – LOG SORT SEALED BID FORM (MUST BE LEGIBLE)
This amendment changes the minimum bid price for the sawlogs sorts in the sale. The minimum bid price for Sort 1, Douglas-fir sawlogs (DIB 5”+) is lowered from $700 per MBF to $400 per MBF. The minimum bid price for Sort 2, Cottonwood sawlogs (DIB 6”+) is lowered from $400 per MBF to $150 per MBF. This change is made to increase competition, accommodate pricing norms for shorter log lengths typical of a cut-to-length operation, and address uncertainty in who will be the operator until after log sale bids have been placed.
An updated Appendix C – LOG SORT SEALED BID FORM has been uploaded with this Amendment. Please use the updated bid form when completing your bid package.
