About this file
This is an addendum to Invitation for Bid (IFB) #27028 issued by the Stafford County Service Authority in Virginia for the Aquia Plant Aluminum Sulfate Tank Replacement project. The addendum provides clarifications and modifications to the original solicitation documents. Key contract details include the replacement of an aluminum sulfate storage tank at the Aquia water treatment plant, with the project scope encompassing tank removal, installation of a new tank system, and associated site work. The solicitation required site visits prior to bid submission to allow bidders to assess existing conditions and project requirements. Bidders were required to submit sealed bids by the specified due date, with evaluation and award to follow based on bid responsiveness and contractor qualifications.
The addendum addresses questions raised during the bidding process and provides supplementary information regarding technical specifications, site conditions, and project requirements. Pricing for the project was to be submitted on a lump-sum basis as part of the sealed bid proposal. No specific set-asides for disadvantaged or small businesses were identified in the addendum. The project represents capital improvement work for water utility infrastructure, with funding anticipated through the Service Authority's capital improvement budget or bonding mechanisms typical for municipal water system upgrades.
