About this file
This is an Invitation For Bid (IFB) #25-003 Addendum #1 issued by the California Secretary of State's Contract Services Management Services Division for Grille Hood Cleaning Services at the Gold Rush Grille. The addendum provides detailed specifications for quarterly hood and exhaust cleaning services, including requirements for dry cleaning of hoods every 90 days, monthly filter cleaning, and specific handling of chemicals and wastewater. The first cleaning is scheduled for July 2025, and the contractor must coordinate with the Secretary of State (SOS) and Department of General Services (DGS) for scheduling and roof access.
The addendum specifies that there are three hoods, each with a fan and duct, and includes provisions for service reporting, potential part replacements (up to 30% of contract value), and strict guidelines for chemical use and disposal. Contractors must provide material safety data sheets, use a clarifying tank if needed, and ensure that water used in cleaning is processed through a clarifier before disposal. The document emphasizes compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Commercial Cooking Equipment NFPA-96 Standard and requires detailed service condition reports after each quarterly cleaning.
