ICAM Capabilities and Vision
Welcome to our Industry Working Day briefing on the Army Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) initiative. ICAM is the cornerstone of our Zero Trust security strategy, providing a comprehensive framework to ensure secure and appropriate access to Army resources. Our team will walk you through the core components of our mission and the future of identity, credential and access management at the Army.
Core ICAM Capabilities
ICAM delivers a suite of services that form the foundation of the Army's modern unified ICAM.
Capability
Description
Identity & Authentication
As the primary identity provider, ICAM validates user identities and provides single sign-on (SSO) capabilities, allowing personnel to access numerous applications with a single, secure credential.
Access Management
Ensures that the right individuals have the appropriate level of access to systems, applications, and data at the right time. ICAM enforces consistent access controls across the enterprise by managing authentication, authorization, and user privileges based on mission needs and authoritative sources.
Federation Services
We enable secure connections with mission partners by establishing a framework of trust and standards, allowing for seamless information sharing while maintaining control over access policies.
Account Provisioning
Through automation, we streamline the account lifecycle, reducing manual errors and ensuring access is granted or revoked in a timely manner based on authoritative data sources.
Enterprise Audit & Visibility
ICAM aggregates user account data into a Master User Record, providing a comprehensive, auditable view of access privileges for robust security oversight and compliance.
AGENDA: See attachments.
Vendor Eligibility and Selection for Presentations The Government will invite up to thirty-five (35) qualified vendors to participate in the Army ICAM Industry Working Day, from received registrations. Selected vendors are limited to maximum up to two (2) representatives. Technical attendees are encouraged, rather than business development, for robust challenge discussion.
Selection Criteria:
· Implementation of AI tools in an enterprise-level portfolio of ICAM systems.
· Deploying comprehensive ICAM solutions foundational to a Zero Trust Architecture.
· Managing the complete identity lifecycle, from proofing and credentialing to automated account management, supporting authenticators like PIV cards and derived credentials with robust Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
· Enabling federated identity management, SSO, and dynamic access control models (e.g., Attribute-Based Access Control).
· Knowledge in one or more of the following:
· Managing identity fabrics in federated environments to include operations across different information domains and network fabrics;
· Managing various authenticators across multiple assurance levels, to include authenticators bound within credentials, for multiple authentication assurance levels in federated environments;
· Logging for troubleshooting, compliance, and cyber operations to include interoperable interfaces and reports.
· Managing authorization, authentication, and access control using interoperable policy languages, multiple authentication assurance levels, and multiple access control models in federated environments.
