About this file
This document contains a bid tabulation for a Hydraulic Hammer procurement by the SRRA (State Regional Recreational Authority) in Virginia. The contract opportunity is seeking sealed bids for one Hydraulic Hammer to be used with Hitachi excavators. The bids were received from three vendors: Hills Machinery, Jewell Machinery, and Wear Parts Aurora. The evaluation criteria focused on compliance with technical specifications, purchase cost, total cost of ownership, vendor experience, warranty coverage, delivery timeline, and innovative features. Hills Machinery was awarded the contract for their Toku Striker Hydraulic Hammer with a total cost of $9,785, which can be used with both new excavators and existing JD 60 models. The delivery timeline is immediate as the hammers are in stock at the local store.
The pricing details show that Hills Machinery had the second-lowest initial purchase cost, but was evaluated as the best value due to its versatility to fit multiple excavator models and the availability of an optional mounting plate for a CAT 305 excavator. The evaluation also considered the 1-year seal warranty and 3-year limited warranty provided by the manufacturer. The other bids were from Jewell Machinery for $8,690 and Wear Parts Aurora for $11,299, but they could only be used with specific Hitachi excavator models.
