About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for an Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring Services solicitation at the Defense Health Agency's David Grant Medical Center (DGMC).

The document clarifies that DGMC cannot allow 45 days between award and service commencement, requiring minimal transition time to prevent disruption of February 2025 surgery schedules. Historical case volumes for CY 2024 show 64 spine cases and 45 vascular cases, with no ENT, orthopedic, or other cases. Services are primarily scheduled Monday through Friday, with a maximum of 2 concurrent cases per day and an average of 4 patients per week. The scope includes OR-only EEG monitoring, with the government providing motor strip grids for brain mapping (averaging 1 case per year). The contractor must provide various neurodiagnostic modalities including evoked potentials, electromyography, electroencephalograms, and pulse oximetry.

Questions and Answers

Answers to the questions are in BLUE

1. Please clarify the expected award date. Will DGMC allow for minimum of 45 days between award and service commencement to allow for the hospital’s credentialing/onboarding processes?

As the end user/customer we cannot allow for 45 days between award and service commencement. The onboarding process is minimal, and 45 days is excessive. DGMC has an ongoing schedule of patients which would need to be scheduled in February 2025, therefore the transition would need to be minimal to prevent a disruption in surgery schedules.

2. Please specify historic (e.g., CY 2024) volumes of case types:

Only Spine and Vascular see numbers below:

- ENT - 0

- Spine - 64

- Ortho -0

- Vascular - 45

- Other - 0

3. Please clarify the case breakdown of weekday vs weekend. Can you please provide a chart with volume counts for case type and then split it out by day such as in the below example:

The majority of the cases are scheduled during Monday through Friday

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday
