The contract seeks a service agreement for five years, with the contractor responsible for supplying parts, performing repairs, calibration, modifications, and safety recalls to maintain the sterilizer's original specifications.

Key requirements include scheduling work Monday through Friday from 0730-1630, providing detailed service reports to USAF representatives, and properly disposing of all waste materials generated during service. STATEMENT OF WORK

Steris Sterilizer Service and Maintenance Dental Clinic Department

Version:

Date:

SECTION 1 – BACKGROUND

The 9th Medical Group (MDG) needs preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs for the STERIS AMSCO 400 Steam Sterilizer. Currently, the sterilizer is the primary unit for the group’s sole Central Instrument Processing Center. It is utilized to support five clinics (Dental, Active-Duty Clinic, Family Practice, Flight Medicine & Women's Health). From 1 May 2025 to 30 April 2025, THE STERILIZER SUPPORTED THE DENTAL CLINIC WITH 5.9

THOUSAND APPOINTMENTS, PRODUCING 2.3 MILLION DOLLARS IN CARE FOR 3.2

THOUSAND JOINT SERVICE MEMBERS. With the upcoming increase in providers and manning the sterilizer will see more use increasing the wear and tear. The clinic does have two smaller tabletop sterilizers but are smaller in size, require the purchase of distilled water, take an entire load to process non-dental instruments due to their size, and take almost 90 minutes to process, which is a 40-minute increase from the Steris per load. Furthermore, the full potential of operations could not be sustained for a prolonged period for all five clinics on tabletops alone. As a backup Beale has reached out to Travis AFB to establish a memorandum of understanding for mutual support, however, Travis has stated they may not be able to provide support as they also have issues. Additionally, sterilizer failure would compound rescheduling and off-base referral costs across the entire Medical Group & expenses in travel for transporting instruments to process at Travis AFB.
