About this file
This document provides technical specifications and operational guidance for a Taylor-Wharton vertical cryogenic tank system, model VTM-11000-250, designed for industrial nitrogen distribution and storage. The tank has a gross capacity of 11,360 gallons (43,000 liters) with a net usable capacity of 10,792 gallons (40,850 liters) at 95% fill. The vessel features a maximum allowable working pressure (MAWP) of 250 psig (17.24 barg), outer diameter of 9'10", overall height of 34'5", empty weight of 51,940 lbs, and a normal evaporation rate of 0.21% per day in nitrogen service. The tank is ASME-approved and complies with regional certification standards including CRN and Nippon-KHK approval codes.
The system incorporates a bottom-mounted control manifold with standardized 2.0-inch dual-fill piping for truck deliveries, a pressure-building circuit with external aluminum finned coil and adjustable regulator, an economizer circuit for low-demand gas conservation, and a dual safety relief system with independent pressure relief valves and rupture discs. Standard instrumentation includes mechanical tank pressure gauges and differential pressure liquid level gauges. The document includes a German-language operational manual (Betriebsanweisung) for a Harsco SCS system with detailed filling procedures, pressure management instructions, and safety protocols. Additional reference materials include product labeling for LOXmedical 100% oxygen (V/V) and medical-grade oxygen (Sauerstoff med.) with associated hazard warnings and safety requirements. To obtain exact dimensional blueprints, foundation footprints, or anchoring locations, users should request General Arrangement (GA) drawings from Taylor-Wharton or certified secondary suppliers and provide vessel serial numbers and regional registration markers.

Standard Piping & Instrument Diagram (P&ID) Layout
A standard Taylor-Wharton vertical cryogenic tank features a bottom-mounted control manifold. Key valve positions and line connections indicated on the operational blueprints include:
1. Top Fill Valve & Bottom Fill Valve: Standardized 2.0-inch dual-fill piping for flexible truck deliveries.
2. Pressure Building Circuit: Diverts liquid through a bottom isolation valve into an external aluminum finned pressure-building coil, regulating headspace pressure via an adjustable regulator.
3. Economizer Circuit: Conserves product gas during low-demand periods by venting excess head gas down to the main supply line through an economizer regulator.
4. Dual Safety Relief System: Features a diverter valve routing to twin independent pressure relief valves and rupture discs to guarantee continuous safety protection.
5. Instrumentation: Standard plumbing packages connect to a mechanical tank pressure gauge and a differential pressure (DP) liquid contents level gauge.
Sourcing Official Blueprints
To obtain exact dimensional foundation footprints, anchoring locations, or specific "Nippon/Japanese compliance code" certified technical drawings:
• Request General Arrangement (GA) Drawings: Review the factory manuals or contact a certified secondary supplier like Eleet Cryogenics (who pipes and tests Taylor-Wharton vessels) to ask for GA drawing series for the 3,000 Gallon (approx. 11,000 Liter) VTM or SCS bulk systems.
• Check Serial Plate Data: When reaching out to Taylor-Wharton support, specify your inner/outer vessel serial numbers and any designated regional registration markers (e.g., ASME, CRN, or Nippon-KHK approval codes).
• Technical Specifications: VTM-11000-250
• This data is based on the ASME-approved VTM series (250 psig rating), which is widely used for industrial nitrogen distribution .
