About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file dated 06 June 2025 for Solicitation HT940625R0012, addressing medical laundry and linen services for Naval Health Clinic Charleston. The Q&A covers four key vendor inquiries regarding the solicitation, including: (1) the 300-mile radius requirement for service location, (2) a potential alternate proposal for medical linen rentals, (3) scrubs handling specifications (folding vs. hanging), and (4) washing instructions for specific items like Alter-G Shorts. The government's responses consistently reiterate adherence to the original solicitation requirements, directing vendors to refer to the Performance Work Statement (PWS) Part 5, Sections 5.3.2 and 5.3.3 for specific details. Notably, the government will not accept alternative proposals such as hotel accommodations for inspectors or deviation from the original laundering specifications for government-owned linens.

Questions and Answers from Solicitation HT940625R0012.
12. We currently service a facility in close proximity to your location but are situated just outside the new 300-mile radius. To address potential travel time concerns for inspections, we would like to propose providing hotel accommodations for the inspectors. We believe this would effectively resolve the issue of our location being slightly outside the specified range. Please let me know the thoughts and direction we should take. Would this need to be included in our presentation?
Response: The government is unable to accept gifts such as hotel accommodations and we will not be extending beyond the 300-mile radius.
13. Would the government consider an alternate proposal structure where the contractor provides medical linen rentals (scrubs, gowns, towels) as part of the service, instead of laundering government-owned materials?
Response: No, the Government requirement is requesting proposals based on laundering of Government Owned Linens.
14 The requirement has Scrubs on hangers. My Sub has never personally supplied or seen hospital receive scrubs on hangers. They have always folded them. Is it possible that the scrubs can be folded?
Response: Yes, they can be folded. **Please refer to PWS Part 5; Section 5.3.2 and 5.3.3. for updates**
15. The first line item is Alter-G Shorts. Under the method of finish it says hand wash. Is that an absolute requirement or can they be washed regularly/some other way?
Response: The Alter-G Shorts must be hand washed. **Please refer to PWS Part 5; Section 5.3.2 and
5.3.3. for updates**
