About this file
This document outlines questions and answers regarding internet service requirements for Naval Hospital Jacksonville and supporting offices. The Navy is seeking a vendor to provide shared 1 gigabit download internet speeds across eight locations in Jacksonville and Mayport, Florida. Each of the eight locations currently has a separate address and account number for troubleshooting purposes, but billing will be through a single account. The incumbent provider is Comcast Communications. Installation at each site is limited to installing the vendor's modem or router, without requiring installation of new fiber or coaxial cabling.

Questions and Answers Requirement Detail: Naval Hospital Jacksonville already has an existing structure for providing internet services. These services are currently being provided by Comcast Communications and will be ending on 30Sep23. At the end of the current contract, the vendor will be retrieving their modems that they have supplied to NH Jacksonville. The new vendor is not being required to provide a whole new structure for providing internet services. The vendor should only have to come into each location and install their modem/router for supplying internet services; there should not have to be any installation of fiber cables or coax cables.
1. What are the internet speed requirements for each building?
Answer: The command wants 1G download speed for all locations together.
2. You want 1G internet service at each of the 8 locations, but it mentions fiber and coax in the description so do you want dedicated fiber for each location or Broadband 1G Download speeds at each location?
Answer: We do not want dedicated fiber for each location. The command requires 1G download speed to be shared through all locations; the command does not want 1G per location.
3. Can you also ask if each building has a specific address and if each building should have its own separate account.
Answer: The current contract has each location with its own specific address and account number so that if there was a problem it could easily be identified which location had an issue. However, for billing purposes, only one account was used.
4. Confirm/clarify the locations
