6.7.3.1 PSOs assigned screening post duties, and PSOs assigned as uniformed supervisors that have oversight for screening posts, must successfully complete a sixteen (16) hour curriculum for weapons detection training prior to performing or supervising screener duties.
6.7.3.1.1 Screening Post Defined. Any post, which post orders articulate the use of magnetometer(s) (hand held or walk through), x-ray machine, and/or other device(s) used to screen for potential presence of weapons or explosives.

6.7.3.3 If the PSO does not pass the written exam and/or graded practical exercises on the first attempt, the PSO cannot provide services at a screening post until successfully passing the written exam and/or graded practical exercise. This will not preclude the PSO from providing services at non-screening posts.
The PSO will have one (1) additional attempt to pass within 90 days from initial attempt. PSO must complete requirements in accordance with 6.7.3.1 and Exhibit 4G.
6.7.3.3.1 If PSO exceeds time requirements identified in 6.7.3.3, PSO must wait one (1) year from initial attempt to rescheduled and/or recomplete training. This will not preclude PSOs from providing services at a non-screening post.
6.7.3.3.2 If the PSO does not pass the written exam and/or graded practical exercises on the second attempt, PSO must wait one (1) year from date of second unsuccessful attempt to retrain and re-take exam and practical exercises. This will not preclude PSOs from providing services at non-screening posts.
6.7.3.4 PSO must perform, at a minimum, 8 hours of x-ray machine operation, to screen for weapons and explosives every 60 days to maintain certification requirements. The contractor will be solely responsible for ensuring the minimum 8 hours of x-ray machine operation. Any costs associated (re-training) with not meeting this standard will be the responsibility of the contractor. In addition, the contractor will be responsible via a price reduction to compensate the government for any re-training time. (Time must be recorded on Form 139 or within an FPS approved Post Tracking System.
6.7.3.4.1 If requirements identified in 6.7.3.4 are not met, maintained, and/or properly documented, PSO must successfully complete NWDTP Refresher Training, in accordance with 6.7.4 and Exhibit 4H, prior to performing screener duties.
6.7.4 NWDTP Refresher Training
6.7.4.1 PSOs assigned to screening posts and supervisors that have oversight for screening posts must maintain NWDTP certification by completing eight (8) hours of annual refresher training.
6.7.4.1.2 Upon completion of annual refresher training, PSOs assigned to screening posts must take and pass a Government-administered written examination and complete and pass a practical exercise to demonstrate an ability to perform screener duties in accordance with Exhibit 4H.
6.7.4.1.2 If PSOs do not pass the written exam and/or graded practical exercises on the first attempt, the PSO cannot provide services at a screening post until successfully passing the written exam and/or graded practical exercise. This will not preclude the PSO from providing services at non-screening posts. The PSO will have one (1) additional attempt to pass within 90 days from initial attempt. PSO must complete requirements in accordance with 6.7.3.1 and Exhibit 4H.
6.7.4.1.3 If PSO exceeds time requirements identified in 6.7.3.3, PSO must wait one (1) year from initial attempt to rescheduled and/or recomplete training. This will not preclude PSOs from providing services at a non-screening post.
6.7.4.1.4 If the PSO does not pass the written exam and/or graded practical exercises on the second attempt, PSO must wait one (1) year from date of second unsuccessful attempt to retrain and re-take exam and practical exercises.
