NFIP Industry Day Questions and Answers

PROGRAM OFFICE QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

1. Would the policies transferring from State Farm have to be re-underwritten?

Answer: Except for Submit-for-Rate (SFR) policies, FEMA’s current practice is not to require re-underwriting of policies being transferred to the NFIP Servicing Agent if the policies meet the data reporting requirement prescribed under the Transaction Record Reporting and Processing (TRRP) Plan. The NFIP Servicing Agent is required to re-rate all SFR policies annually to apply the new rates, if applicable.

2. Can FEMA provide a breakdown of the State Farm policies into different categories?

Answer: Upon request, FEMA can provide the NFIP Servicing Agent policies by category, e.g., 1-4 family, other residential, and Residential Condominium Building Association Policy (RCBAP).

3. What is the percentage of misrated RCBAPs found during the condominium inspection program?

Answer: The percentage of misrated RCBAPs found during the Condominium Inspection Program was approximately 75 percent. If the condominium inspection report is correct, the policy was corrected; otherwise, the company submits its appeal to the Bureau along with the supporting documentation.

9. Is there any requirement for a data feed of information from the Direct Servicing Agent to FEMA? If yes, are details regarding this dataset available?
