BLOCK 14: DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT
This amendment is issued to answer questions brought forth during the Site Tour held on July 1, 2008.
Q1. Under the description of the Janitorial/Custodial Services of Page 3, what are the Government Furnished Supplies?
A1. The Coast Guard will supply Janitorial Space, Water, Dumpsters and Outside Trash Cans.
Q2. Are we supposed to supply the CG with out paper products and other Janitorial Materials if they need them? Example Earth Day, CG taking garbage bag liners to clean up Base?
Disposable Gloves?
A2. No.
Q3. If my wife and I were awarded the Janitorial Contract; would we need a security pass/parking stickers?
A3. For security reasons while the Coast Guard is in an ALPHA status, no badge or I.D. is required. When the Coast Guard goes into a BRAVO status the vendor will need to wear a badge with the name of their company and their individual name. Contractor will be issued a pass when entering the security gate.
Note: The contractor must display company logo and placards on employees and vehicles at all times while performing work on a Government Installation.
Q4. If awarded the contract: My wife and I will work every single day just to make sure the Coast Guard Facility is clean and sparkling, and if needed would we be allowed to work weekends?
A4. Any weekend work the Contractor will have to submit the request for approval to the Contracting Office within three (3) calendar days prior to start. Once the request is approved the Contractor will check-in with the Officer of the Day (OOD) to obtain the keys and to let the OOD know you are on the base, what areas you would be cleaning and for approximately how long.
Q5. Are you taking into consideration the increases in not only materials, but barge increases and fuel surcharge that have almost doubled in 2008?
A5. Yes, the Coast Guard will take these increases into consideration, but please be aware that any increases should be reflected in your proposal/bid.

Q7. Do you know how many hours and how many people to do the job?

Q8. Who is responsible for those soap dispensers and sanitation dispensers?
A8. The contractor.
Q9. On a holiday, would it be okay to do shampooing and other floor works?

Q10. With the price almost doubling in 2008 would monies to the contract be increased to compensate cost if the bid contract was awarded for more than one year?

Q11. In the downstairs of the gymnasium is there a Janitorial closet?
A11. Currently there is not a closet, but the Government is in the process of designating a space/closet for the Janitorial Services by the time the new contract is awarded
