Questions and Answers (Lease of Office Building, Shower/Bathroom Trailer)
Q1. I know it’s our responsibility to provide plumbing and electrical hook up, but are these hook up areas close to where the buildings will be, or will extensions need to be provided?
A1. Plumbing and electrical hookup are provided from underground service lines which currently are located adjacent (within 3 feet) or under the current footprint. Depending on the configuration of the modular building and where they are placed, we cannot advise if an extension will be needed.
Q2. What type of ground will these buildings be put on to? Cement, Grass, Gravel?
A2. The ground is gravel.
Q3. Under Section B.5. Description of Work, under the size subsection it states “Anticipate 2x triple wide of 3x double wide” and then a list of square footage room requirements is shown. The square footage if you are going to propose the minimum requirements is roughly 4,000 SF. My question is if you are going to lay out the (2) triple wides or (3) double wides based on these room requirements, what rooms will go in which buildings? Can we propose (1) building with all these room requirements in it?
A3. Current breakdown of space is: 1 modular for C.6.1, 1 Modular for C.6.2, and 1 Modular for C.6.3. C.6.1 and C.6.3 are located within 20 feet of each other; C.6.2 is located across the street.
Building configuration for C.6.1 and C.6.3 may be combined with the requirement that access for C.6.3 can be obtained without transiting through the C.6.1 area (additional access can be obtained through C.6.1, but it should not be the only access). C.6.2 is required to be a separate asset.
Q4. Are you accepting used fleet for these requirements?
A4. Used modular's which meet the technical specifications and are in good working order are acceptable for this contract (meets safety, environmental, and all other codes, and has no visible damage or evidence of damage which will affect the working environment).
Q5. Under the introduction there is a statement that reads, “Please be conscious that this service is a bridge contract for only six months to allow us to establish a base contract with four option periods.” Does the statement four option periods mean (4) years or (4) six month periods.
A5. The term “four option periods” listed within the attached combined synopsis/solicitation intends to have a base year (equivalent to one year) and four, one year option periods (if exercised by the Government). However, option periods can range from months to a year.
Q6. Since the due date for this bid is 1/19, is the true delivery date still going to be 2/1?
A6. Yes, the start date will be 2/1/16. The Current contract ends on 1/31/16.
