Solicitation Number HSCG40-16-Q-53001

Amendment Number A00001

14A. This Amendment is issued to answer the following questions submitted in response to this Solicitation.

QUESTIONS

1) Is there a contingency parts list for 6-71 engine?

Yes, see attached 6-71 contingency parts list.

2) For both the Allison R/G and General Motors PTO, there are no mandatory replacement parts or contingency parts lists found. Please advise?

There is no Allison gear or PTO attached to the engine.

3). There is a requirement for the warranty in the specifications, but I don’t see a line item to price this in the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation.

Per past orders one (1) year standard commercial warranty is what is offered for Detroit

Diesel engines.

4). The specs for the 671 says that the engine MAY arrive with the Allison gear and

GM PTO which must be included in the overhaul. How are we supposed to price this? If the engine arrives without the gear and the PTO, of course the overhaul would be less expensive. In order to complete the overhaul of the gear and the PTO, we will also need a list of mandatory replacement parts as well as contingency parts so we could price them appropriately. Also, there is no list of contingency parts for the 671 so please provide that as well.

There is NO Allison gear or PTO attached to the engine. 671 contingency parts are attached.

5). The solicitation is for six (6) 6V92 Engines and one (1) 671 Engine. In the pricing section of the solicitation, it asks the contractors to quote 7 engines all at the same price. The problem is, there will be a price difference between the 6V92 and 671 engines.

The solicitation needs to have a pricing lines for the 6V92s and lines for the 671 including required hours for the 671.

Solicitation has been updated.

6). My engine specialist is telling me that the serial numbers for the 671 are not coming up as good serial numbers. Because there are no part numbers on the mandatory replacement parts list for that engine, we need the serial number to look up the parts. Can you please check with your technical team about the serial numbers and let me know?

The serial numbers in Specification No. R-233-2012 are good serial numbers. The serial numbers can be located in section 3.3 of the Spec.
