Questions & Answers
1. Will components from the list be made available by USCG for reverse engineering purposes?
Components from the list of parts will not be available by the USCG for reverse engineering purposes.
2. When will the components be required for purchase?
A requirements contract is used when the government anticipates recurring requirements but cannot accurately predetermine the precise quantities of supplies that the government will need. The best estimates were incorporated into the solicitation.
3. The solicitation notes the parts must be approved under the NATO approved system and FAA approval process, which FAA approval will be required? PMA or DER?
Neither PMA nor DER approvals will apply to this requirement. Parts must be purchased from the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The NATO system is used to identify alternate parts that have been approved for use. In order for parts to be suitable for use on the USCG aircraft, they must have been previously approved and loaded through the NATO system.
4. Would it be possible to meet with your team to further discuss the requirements?
It is not possible to meet to further discuss the requirements. All inquiries should be sent to Alysha Purvis at Alysha.K.Purvis@uscg.mil.
