Responses to vendor questions
1. Q: Are you planning on recording the cameras on motion?
A: No
1. Q: Do you want to integrate the facial recognition into the Milestone system?
A: No
1. Q: Conflicting statements - “Cameras and Network Video Recorders and licenses will be procured and installed under a future procurement activity” In section 2.1.3 below it says , procure and install 108 Milestone XProtect Corporate Device Licenses with one year Care Plus.”
A: Only 1 NVR will be integrated into this SOW to support installation of 18 cameras. The procurement of Milestone software is to replace the current software to provide a better operational solution for the cameras currently installed on the existing system, including the 18 cameras to be added. Economy of scale drives the procurement and partial installation at this time.
1. Q: How many CAT6 cable runs will be greater than 300 feet A: Potentially none, but some routing solutions will require a 300 foot or greater tie in to the existing and modified system. Contractor should be prepared to add equipment to compensate for the distance where required.
1. Q: Where is the NVR/rack be located?
A: A rack currently exists in the MDF (Rover Command Center (RCC)), which should have sufficient space for an additional NVR.
1. Q: Can you provide a map of the airport showing areas 4.4.1 to 4.4.5 and where the NVR will be located? If not what is the average distance from the cameras to the NVR?
A: Airport diagrams are not available for this stage of the solicitation, therefore, a Site Visit was afforded to support potential bidders to walk the space and conduct estimates in this regard. Maps will be provided to the winning bidder.
1. Q: What type of ceilings are in the areas where the cables will be run?
A: Most of the ceilings are drop-type ceilings.
1. Q: Are there any existing cable trays or raceways that can be utilized to run the cables?
A: The Awardee should not count on existing structures to support the CBP install. Any existing trays or raceways would likely be utilized by the Terminal Operator. CBP-supported runs would need to be labelled at both ends, whether conduit is used or not. Decision to utilize conduit should be industry-based standards and legally driven.
1. Q: Are there any requirements for the manufacturer and/or models of the cameras?
A: Please refer to Paragraph 6.2 of the SOW.
1. Q: Facial recognition is a very broad description and there are many different types. Please state your minimal functional requirements of the facial recognition system?
A: Please refer to subparagraph 2.1.2.2 of the SOW and the 3 sub further subparagraphs.
1. Q: Will you be supplying the facial recognition software and if not do you have a recommended facial recognition software that you would prefer to use?
A: This effort is to gain the hardware alone. Facial Recognition software and database integration will be part of a future procurement.
1. Q: Are any of the existing 90 cameras analog?
A: Yes.
1. Q: What is the make and model of the existing NVR?
A: Wavestore on Bosch Security DIVAR DIP7084 32 TB.
1. Q: What is the make/model of the existing access control system?
A: Bosch VMS.
1. Q: What are your specific functional requirements between the access control and CCTV systems?
A: Please refer to subparagraphs 4.6 and 4.8 of the SOW.
1. Q: How much free space is in the existing rack?
A: There is at least 8U in the existing rack.
1. Do you have free space in the existing POE switches to accept 18 additional cameras? If no should we be supplying a new POE switch?
A: Likely, but Awardee must provide any additional switch(es) necessary for the expansion, if installation proves out that the existing switch(es) are insufficient to manage the additional cameras.
1. Q: In the revised SOW it states “Install three (3) E4 Video Storage and Management Servers with i7 Processor, 16GB RAM and Win7Pro with 138 TB Raid5 Usable Storage.” During the walkthrough it was advised that this will be eliminated from scope of work. Please clarify?
A: The scope has been diminished from the previous number needed for 1 MDF and 5 IDFs,; therefore, three (3) is what remains with this requirement.
1. Q: In the revised SOW its states 2 different camera types. Out of the 18 cameras needed what is the count of cameras for each camera type?
A: All 18 cameras will be provided to the Awardee for installation.
1. Q: During the walkthrough it was stated that the current VMS is Wavestore but the specifications states Milestone. Please clarify?
A: Currently, Wavestore is installed, but Milestone needs to be procured, along with licenses, and installed to replace Wavestore.
