About this file

This document provides details for a federal grant opportunity through the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The solicitation seeks proposals for research in nano-scale heterogeneous material synthesis to develop defect-free multi-layer heterogeneous junctions with atomically sharp surfaces and abrupt compositional transitions. Specifically, DARPA is not interested in research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements but rather revolutionary advances in science, devices, or systems. Acceptable proposals must investigate innovative approaches. The federal grant program supporting this opportunity is Research and Technology Development as categorized by the CFDA number 12.910 to support basic, applied, and advanced research at educational institutions, non-profits, and commercial firms that may have military or dual-use applications in the form of grants, cooperative agreements, or procurement contracts. Eligible applicant types are listed as other.
