Questions and Answers #3 HR0011-12-R-0006
Q1. Our company has built a biomanufacturing facility for production of cGMP-grade biologicals using Nicotiana tabacum and N. benthamiana. We have produced multiple-gram quantities of a recombinant therapeutic protein for animal safety and efficacy studies, funded by NIH grants.
We have not produced protein under contract. Will you consider completion of grant aims relating to protein production relevant as evidence of Past Performance and Experience, or will you only consider offerers who have past experience delivering protein produced in N.
benthamiana under contract?
A1. Any type of governmental funding vehicle is acceptable as a means of demonstrating past performance and experience in the expression of different types of recombinant plant (N.
Benthiamiana) made proteins in established validated production facilities. The RFP will be amended at Section (3) Past Performance and Experience to add “award instrument” to the description.
