The result of this market research will contribute to determine the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is: 236220.
The estimated contract value is between $10,000.000 and $15,000,000. The anticipated award date is September 2017. The anticipated completion of work for this effort is approximately 728 calendar days after the notice to proceed.
There is NO solicitation at this time. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes NO financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
Synopsis and Background:
The Department of Defense (DOD) in Arlington Virginia intends to solicit construction firms experienced in federal building to submit initial interest in a project. The project consists of the need for a Redundant Chilled Water (RCW) loop spanning approximately 1,400 linear feet of main pipe, risers, and distribution lines throughout corridors, mechanical rooms, and some tenant spaces within the Pentagon. This is a highly specialized design build project that will require experienced firms to be familiar with Government approval procedures and extensive knowledge of Federal Standards, Unified Facilities Criteria UFC criteria, and International Building Code. Responses to this sources sought will be utilized by the Government to determine the best method of procurement.
A separate project has designed and constructed 1/5th of a new chilled water (CHW) main loop that has been installed in the basement, below ground. The remaining four segments of the new redundant chilled water loop are yet to be designed and constructed. The normal chilled water is served by an off-site chilled facility. There are indoor chillers that feed RCW tenants and will be the primary source of CHW for the RCW loop.
Objective:
The objective of this project is to provide redundant chilled water to existing HVAC systems serving specific tenants currently not supported by redundant chilled water. The new distribution will provide dedicated redundant chilled water to HVAC system equipment serving specific tenants throughout the facility on all five above ground floors.
