About this file

The document is a Selection of A/E Services Form for the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS) related to the Howlett East HVAC Upgrades project. The project involves the replacement of the existing HVAC system in the 1923 addition of the Howlett Building in Springfield, Illinois. The project budget is $300,000 for the design fee, and the selected firm is Clark Dietz, an engineering firm with prior experience working on State of Illinois construction projects. The scope of work includes upgrading the HVAC system to a VAV system with new air handling units, hot water reheat coils, ductwork, and a dedicated outside air system.

The contract is being procured in the best interest of the state, as the existing HVAC system has become unreliable, and frequent repairs are required. Without these immediate repairs, ILSOS will be unable to heat or cool a quarter of the Howlett Building. The contract with Clark Dietz is estimated to cost $300,000 and is for the term upon execution through December 31, 2025.
