About this file
This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Maine Military Authority (MMA) for a one-year contract to re-cover military HMMWV seats. The work involves removing and disposing of existing seat coverings, making minor repairs to seat cushion foundations as needed, and re-covering seats with new 8-Duck, 18 ounce canvas fabric in olive drab color. Each seat has approximately 2.2 square yards of fabric-covered surface area and consists of separate bottom and back cushions in a standard military high-back bucket design. MMA projects that approximately 60 seats will require re-covering within the first seven weeks after contract award, with an initial delivery of 10 seats within days of award, followed by subsequent deliveries of 1 to 10 seats weekly. The contractor must complete all required work within one week of taking delivery of seats. All projected work is contingent upon MMA's production needs, and occasional re-covering orders may be needed throughout the contract period.
MMA will deliver and pick up seats to the contractor if the contractor is located within 25 road miles of the MMA facility in Limestone, Maine. Contractors located beyond this distance are responsible for all point-to-point pickup and delivery, including third-party freight and handling services. The RFQ does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, or funding amounts. The State Purchasing Director reserves the right to extend the contract period beyond the indicated expiration date with the contractor's consent, and the Director of the Division of Purchases retains the right to cancel the contract with thirty days' written notice.
