About this file
This document is an Emergency Purchase Statement from the State of Illinois Chief Procurement Office. It details the emergency procurement of cable TV services for the Hill Correctional Center, which is part of the Illinois Department of Corrections. The cable TV services are a critical need provided to the inmate population that is paid for through the Inmate Benefit Fund. The emergency procurement was necessary to avoid disruption to these services while the facility seeks a new contract through a competitive bidding process. The initial term of the emergency contract was from February 14, 2020 to May 13, 2020, with an estimated cost of $22,000.
The final total cost of the emergency contract was $21,275.91, and the final term was through May 13, 2020. The vendor, Friendship Cable of Texas DBA Correctional Cable, has been providing the cable TV services up to this point, and continued use of this vendor during the emergency period was deemed necessary to avoid disruption to the inmate population.

Cable TV is a critical need provided to the inmates that is paid directly by the Inmate Benefit Fund.
