This document is a detailed specification for a metal locker replacement project for Delton Kellogg High School, located in Delton, Michigan. The project, identified as A/E Project 5-4900, involves furnishing and installing steel lockers in various areas of the school, including athletic and physical education locker rooms. The specification provides comprehensive requirements for locker materials, fabrication, and installation, with a focus on single-tier lockers in 15"w x 15"d x 72"h and 10"w x 15"d x 72"h configurations. The lockers will be heavy-duty ventilated type from approved manufacturers such as Republic Storage Systems, Lyon Metal Products, Penco Products, and others.

The specification outlines detailed technical requirements for the lockers, including material composition (mild cold rolled sheet steel), finish (phosphatized and enamel-coated), and specific design elements like 18-gauge tops, 5-knuckle hinges, number plates, interior hooks, and a sophisticated locking mechanism. The project includes provisions for accessibility, requiring a minimum of 5% accessible lockers dispersed throughout the installation. The lockers come with a minimum two-year warranty against defects, and the installation will be performed on existing bases and in the locations of current lockers. The specification provides extensive details on construction, finish, and performance expectations to ensure a high-quality replacement of the school's existing locker infrastructure.
