About this file
This is Amendment Six to the NIAID 2026 DMID Omnibus Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) No. HHS-NIH-NIAID-BAA2025-1, issued on January 16, 2025.
The amendment updates the proposal due date for Research Area 001 (Development of Candidate Therapeutics, Vaccines, and In Vitro Diagnostics for AMR Bacterial or Fungal Pathogens) to February 21, 2025, while Research Area 002 (Development of Direct Acting Antivirals for Viral Families of Pandemic Potential) remains due January 21, 2025. All proposals must be received by 3:00 PM Eastern Time. The cut-off dates for questions are February 10, 2025 for Research Area 001 and January 10, 2025 for Research Area 002. The amendment also clarifies that in eCPS, the BAA is separated into four separate solicitations corresponding to the two Research Areas, including three Topic numbers for Research Area 001. One technical question regarding the Summary of Proposed Cost template is addressed, confirming that Base and Option periods should be included in a single template.

Due to the competitive nature of the BAA, NIAID cannot provide any technical direction or feedback regarding an offeror’s specific technical approach.
Please note, in the questions/responses below, specific organizational names have been removed or replaced where possible as well as other minor adjustments.
I. GOVERNMENT RESPONSES:
The Government’s responses to questions received regarding this solicitation are as follows:
A. GENERAL QUESTIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL RESEARCH AREAS:
Question 1: Do we need to submit a separate excel spreadsheet template for each option or would we just add a new tab for the options?
Response: You should include the Base and each option, if proposed, in one (1) Summary of
Proposed Cost template. You can edit the template, such as revising Periods I and II headings to Base and Option 1, respectively, as well as the period/dates for each column, as appropriate.
For subcontractors, please see response to question 3d of Amendment Three posted on
December 18, 2024.
