About this file

This Broad Agency Announcement solicits research proposals for five distinct areas related to vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics and medical countermeasures. Proposals are due on various dates between February 28, 2020 and April 9, 2020 for research managed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases within the Department of Health and Human Services. The funding available totals approximately $27.5 million across multiple anticipated awards.

Research areas include development of a vaccine for acute flaccid myelitis associated with Enterovirus D68, with up to $3 million available. Other areas focus on countermeasures for biothreats and antibiotic resistant bacteria, therapeutics for priority pathogens, and rapid diagnostics. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases will manage research on radiation countermeasures, vaccines for biodefense and emerging diseases, and therapeutics. Proposals should further the understanding of infectious diseases and support products to prevent, treat and diagnose conditions.
