CONSOLIDATED QUESTIONS (Q) AND ANSWERS (A)

Written Questions Received

Response: 1 June 2016

Solicitation #: HEVAS6-16-R-0002 Kentucky Bus

Note: Unless indicated otherwise, reference within the questions pertain to the original solicitation document.

Q1. Can we get copy of the actual routes with time and mileage?

A1. Please see Appendixes 1 and 2.

Q2. How many tiered route system is currently in place? i.e. 3 tiered would consist of a elementary run, middle school run, and high school run?

A2. Please see Appendixes 1 and 2.

Q3. Do they use a computer routing system?

A3. Current contractor utilizes routing software.

Q4. Do they allow drivers to park-out at home or other job?

A4. No if the installation enforces Force Protection Level Charlie, buses are checked before they leave the bus compound and before they re-enter the compound. They checks are done by Military personnel assigned by the installation.

Q5. Will they provide office space?

A5. Yes. Please see Para 7.0 “Government Furnished Facilities” of Attachment 1 (Performance Work Statement)

Q6. Will they provide communication systems for office and vehicles?

Q6. NO.

Q7. Can they provide the seating capacity of vehicles currently be utilized by route?

A7. Changes occur each school year with opening and closing schools as the MILCON projects dictate. New zones and route changes, along with Soldiers PCSing or moving off base during the summer months, this normalizes after the students return to school in the fall.

Q8. Are there any special requirements for any of the equipment? A/C, Wheelchair Lifts?

A8. Yes. Please refer to the Performance Work Statement

Q9. Can they provide a calendar for next school year for all the schools serviced?

A9. Please refer to Appendix 6

Q10. Can we get a list by route of the drivers daily pay rate?

A10. No. We do not provide the drivers.

Q11. Are the drivers currently being paid by hour, by run, or by route?

A11. We do not provide the drivers.

Q12. Are they currently experiencing recruiting issues for drivers and attendants?

A12. We do not provide the drivers.

Q13. How many full time staff are currently being used and what are their job titles?

A13. None.

Q14. If currently using private contractors, could we get a copy of your current contract and the 2016 School Year's Billing?

A14. No. Please read the solicitation for an understanding of the requirement.

Q15. Are the current drivers receiving any other benefits? i.e. Health Insurance, Paid Vacations, Paid Holidays, Attendance or Safety Bonus etc?

A15. Please read the solicitation.

Q16. How are the employees currently being paid? i.e. weekly or bi-weekly?

Q17. What is the average length of the extra-curricular runs in time & mileage?
