About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details a flooring replacement project for the Yokosuka Primary School by the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA). The project involves replacing floor tiles in nine specific classrooms (A119, A127, A135, A138, A145, A149, A153, A157, and A161) within building 3859, totaling 12,374 square feet of new flooring. The contractor must remove existing carpet material under industrial hygienist supervision, apply leveling mortar, and install new durable vinyl, PVC, or synthetic floor tiles that are low-maintenance, chemical-resistant, and suitable for high-traffic prekindergarten environments.

Key project requirements include using non-toxic, asbestos-free materials, installing new baseboards that complement the floor tiles, and completing all work by July 25, 2025. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and permits, submit before/during/after photos, coordinate work schedule with school operations, and provide a quality control report with photo documentation. The project will be inspected by the DoDEA Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), with specific constraints including adherence to U.S. and Japanese standards, safety regulations, and proper waste disposal.
