AMENDMENT 03

Below are answers to more questions received in response to this solicitation:

Q1) Section 2.0: We feel that our program is exceptionally aligned with the objectives and requirements of the solicitation, but we are finalizing unit revisions based from our extensive field trial research project. As a result, regarding the availability of materials, we will only have field instructional materials for the K-5 Physical Science units and one 5th Grade Life Science unit. The full program will be ready for implementation at the end of June 2017 (ready for Fall 2017). Please confirm whether this type of submission would still be considered for award.

A1) No, a partial submission that does not include your full program offering cannot be considered.

Q2) How many professional develop sessions/webinars can be anticipated per district for each year?

Are there expectations of the curriculum provider to travel or will all support be via phone, email / webinars and if so what is the frequency and location you would require training?

A2) Professional development will only occur during the initial base year. We anticipate 1-4 sessions. There is no travel required. All support shall be via phone, email/webinars.

Q3) Do you anticipate any live professional develop sessions/webinars any lower level than at the district level?

A3) No.

Q4) What is the minimum amount of daily time the contractor is required to provide teachers with “live” curriculum customer support?

A4) We encourage most curriculum customer support to be facilitated through our subject matter experts at the district and headquarters, so contractors will have minimal time, if any, to provide actual teachers with live customer support.

Q5) Is 18 the average class size of DoDEA Kindergarten classes, and 481 the number of classes requiring Science curriculum as referenced in Attachment 1, Pricing Schedule? If not, what is the total # of classrooms by grade we should anticipate generating a delivery order, per the base contract?

A5) Yes.

Q6) May we assume that there will be no requirements to ship product through the Defense Depots to either Europe or Asia?

A6) There will be no requirements to ship through the Defense Depots to Europe or Asia.

Q7) Based on the nature of our materials, typically when fulfilling orders for users outside the US, we remove all customs-restricted materials (customs-restricted items are categorized as but not limited to and including biological, agricultural, or food related items), but in cases of previous orders from DoDEA and Dept. of State for Overseas Schools, we have been informed these materials do not need to be removed. Can you confirm whether or not customs-restricted materials would need be removed from kits prior to shipping?

A7) Customs-restricted material would not need to be removed from kits prior to shipping.

Q8) We understand we will need to set up this material, but are very concerned with the space we will be allowed to do so. Can you provide any information regarding the space we will have to set up this material?

A8) The room is 984 square feet.

Q9) Please explain the quantity break outs on the pricing spreadsheet. For example, 8649 complete student sets are requested for Kindergarten in year 1 with 5 print and 5 digital. What does 8,649 represent? (see illustration below)

A9) The unit of issue of “Each” and total quantities reflect the estimated number of Items listed in “Column B” that DoDEA foresees purchasing within the period indicated above. In your example, the number 8,649 is the total estimated quantity of “Complete Set of Student Materials” that DoDEA anticipates purchasing within the First Year (2017-2018) of the contract, which directly corresponds to the estimated number of students in that initial year. The 935 directly corresponds to the estimated number of teachers (both science teachers and other educators) and the 481 directly corresponds to the number of classrooms.

The CLIN 0001 unit EA represents the estimated number of individual (non-set) items of student material.

These individual items would be purchased in the event that they are lost from the complete student set and needed to be replaced.

The CLIN 0002 unit EA represents the estimated number of individual (non-set) items of teacher material.

These individual items would be purchased in the event that they are lost from the complete teacher set and needed to be replaced.

The CLIN 0003 unit EA represents the estimated number of individual (non-set) items within classroom lab kits/materials. These individual items would be purchased in the event that they are lost from the complete classroom lab kits/materials set and needed to be replaced.

Please refer to ADDENDUM TO FAR 52.212-1, (1)(a)(1)(c) for instructions on filling out the pricing sheet.
