About this file
This document contains Questions and Answers related to a Request for Quote (RFQ) for Blue Travel Cases with Custom Foam Inserts. The RFQ was issued by the Defense Information Systems Agency and does not require specific SKB cases, allowing for equivalent manufacturer cases. Detailed drawings are not available, but the Government is willing to ship sample items to the awardee to ensure proper fit. There is no set delivery deadline, but the first article is required within 45 days and the remaining items within 90 days of first article approval. Tow handles are acceptable, and the cases must be blue in color. The RFQ specifies quantities and configurations for 10 different sizes/layouts of travel cases.

Questions and Answers Blue Travel Cases with Custom Foam Inserts
1) Several cases (Video Acc Box, Flag Base Travel Case) specifically call out SKB cases, while the majority of cases (Anchor Liberty, Anchor Explorer, etc.) do not. When a specific case is not provided, would you like us to make a recommendation based on the contents? Or do you have desired cases in mind for all products that you could share?
a. There are no specific cases or manufacturer required. Any items which included a specific case were listed were only as an example, another equivalent manufacturer or case is okay.
2) Are 3-D models or detailed drawings of each item available (speakers, power adapters, UPS, base plate, etc.)?
a. No, the specific dimension for each item is listed in Attachment 1 Case Specifications, to size cases accordingly. We are willing to ship one of each item to the awardee to ensure exact fit if requested.
3) I didn't see a desired delivery date included in the RFQ, is there a deadline you had in mind? If not, we'll share what we feel is appropriate given the scale of the order. There is no deadline, so an appropriate timeline is acceptable.
a. First item required for testing is due within 45 calendar days, this is noted in clause 52.209-4
(RFQ has been amended to reflect this). Remaining items will be required within 90 days of first article approval.
4) Is an extending handle a requirement or a larger side handle/tow handle such as on SKB 3i-3424-12 sufficient?
a. A tow handle, like the above reference model, is sufficient.
5) Page 1 states “Anchor explorer speaker travel case (2 per box)”, and then under cutout 5 and 6, it states 2each for a power cord and XLR adapter. Would this be a total of 4 for this case, or still a quantity of 2?
a. There are two speakers, each with a power cord and XLR adapter. So each cutout holds 2 power cords and 2 XLR adapters, one for each speaker. Two power cords in one slot and two XLR adapters in the other cutout.
6) Are the cases required to be blue?
a. Yes.
