Testing Requirements

A. Circuit shall pass acceptance testing by Telecommunication Provider (TP) prior to acceptance by Government.

B. TP must provide long haul circuit number, local circuit identifier for each end location, and trouble reporting number to Government acceptance activity prior to acceptance of the service by government.

C.

1. Vendor will perform 72-hour acceptance testing in accordance with ITU-TY.1564 Ethernet service activation. Vendor will perform acceptance with ITU-TY. 1564 ethernet service activation. The test must be bi-directional using the same data rate in each direction.

2. Latency, measured round-trip, will be according to the following guidelines:

Within country: less than 25ms;

Within Europe: less than 75ms;

Outside Europe: less than 150ms;

Any APS switchover shall take less than 50 milliseconds.

3. Test must be bi-directional using the same data rate in each direction. The test must verify the length of received frames, indicate number of frames dropped, number of frames received out of order, and duplicate frames. Tests must be bi-directional using the same data rate in each direction

4. Burst tests must be run to determine minimum interval between frames that can be processed without frame loss.

5. A throughput test is required indicating the fastest rate at which test frames can be transmitted without frame loss. A separate throughput test must be run with frames addressed to the hardware broadcast address constituting at least 1% of the test stream and be evenly distributed throughout the test.

6. A latency test must be run for a period of no less than 120 seconds, and repeated no less than 20 times. The test stream for the latency test should be run at the throughput rate for corresponding frame size from the throughput test.

7. End to End latency will be calculated as the average over the 20 test runs. Frame loss rate tests should be run at the frame rate corresponding to the maximum frame rate, and reduced be 10% intervals until there are at least two consecutive runs in which no frames are lost.

8. Throughput test results: Passing rate 100% for all frame byte sizes exercised. Frame loss rate (%) results: Frame loss rate less than 0.01% for all frame byte size exercised.

D. Test data must be provided to DITCO/DISA via electronic email at the following address:

tina.l.wills.civ@mail.mil and DISA.STUTTGART.DITCO.MBX.POSTAWARD-PL52@MAIL.MIL.

Government acceptance testing of the circuit will not commence until receipt of this data and mailto:%20DISA.STUTTGART.DITCO.MBX.POSTAWARD-PL52@MAIL.MIL.

verification by the government that the test data shows that the performance criteria are met.

ACCEPTABLE CONTRACTOR/TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROVIDER (TP) RESPONSE:

“UNDERSTAND, WILL COMPLY”.
