About this file
The file "Vendor Sample Maps Version2.pdf" contains a series of Google Earth satellite images showing fictitious fiber optic route maps across multiple locations, including Scott Air Force Base (AFB), Offutt AFB, DECC St. Louis, and various vendor central offices in Illinois and Nebraska. Each map includes a prominent note stating "NOTE: All fiber routes are fictitious and used only as an example," suggesting these are sample or demonstration route planning visualizations. The routes are marked in red and yellow lines traversing various urban and rural areas, with specific geographic landmarks and infrastructure points highlighted.
While the images are labeled as part of a document related to a Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) solicitation for 10GB WAVE service between naval facilities in California, the maps themselves appear to be generic example route illustrations rather than actual proposed network infrastructure paths. The images provide geographic context for potential telecommunications infrastructure routing, but are explicitly marked as fictional and not intended to represent real deployment plans.
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial products or commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ).
